Meet the Art’s Power team!

We’re a group of Vermont high school students working through What’s The Story, a Vermont social action class interested in bettering our community and our world.

Caroline Kimble is a senior at Middlebury High School. Her academic interests include Spanish, English, and psychology. In addition to attending school she is a three-season athlete who enjoys running Cross-Country in the fall, Nordic skiing in the winter, and track in the spring. Art has always been an important part of her life, and some of her favorite memories have been learning to sculpt, paint, draw and create. She attended North Branch middle school which had an emphasis on art and creativity, and believes that was one of the most formative periods of her life. She also has participated in art therapy sessions during a period of anxiety in her life, and believes that using art was instrumental in her process of overcoming her anxiety. She is passionate to share her belief in the value of art in both education, and healing.

Sydney Taft Cole is a homeschooled 10th grader who lives in Duxbury, Vermont. She has always had a strong interest in the arts. Having participated in numerous theatrical productions and art classes over the years, she can definitely attest to art’s power! Some of her other hobbies are listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s (mostly Elton John, Billy Joel, and Stevie Wonder), sewing, and going on trips with friends. All the effort Sydney has put into this documentary was absolutely worth it. Sydney is so grateful to What’s the Story for providing this enriching opportunity and is pleased she had the chance to participate in the class this year.

Mariana Considine is currently a sophomore at Hazen Union High School in Hardwick, Vermont. She is very involved in the arts, especially in the dance and theater community. She also enjoys playing and composing music on the piano, French Horn, and trumpet. She participated in What’s the Story Vermont for the first time in the 2017-2018 school year. In the future she hopes to be able to take what she has learned and loves so much about the arts to others who may not have those opportunities available to them.
